CAA presents 2022 Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award for Writing on Art to Professor Wu Hung

February 7, 2022

Congratulations to our Center for the Art of East Asia Director Professor Wu Hung who will receive the 2022 Distinguished Lifetime Achievement Award for Writing on Art. The College Art Association will present this award to Professor Wu on February 16.

Perpetually interested in the shape of time, in relation to the time of the world, Professor Wu has authored many books, essays, and exhibition catalogues that bring Chinese visual culture into different orders of focus, taking into account the changing conditions of tombs, screens, performances, and protests. His writing brings perspectives native to both Chinese and American culture to bear on aesthetics, art history, and archaeology, allowing arguments to unfold across centuries without losing sight of the very human presence of artists and audiences.
